In 2014, CEO, Watt R. Foster Jr. donated 500 acres to the Thomas Road Baptist Church to build a youth camp at the Peaks of Otter in the Blue Ridge Mountains. With over fifty years of camp involvement, Thomas Road Baptist Church’s mission for the camp is to reach at-risk youth from Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, and the DC area. Designed with numerous outdoor activities, the Thomas Road Outpost (TRO) is scheduled to open Summer of 2016 and provides a safe and ministry-lead environment where youth can enjoy mountain biking, zip lining, fishing, archery, building healthy relations and more.
With less than a year until its grand opening, there is a great need for donations in order to get TRO ready for the first day of camp. The program is still growing and in need of donations to help financially support construction costs as they continue to build comfortable housing units for campers and staffers, create camp activities for each child to enjoy and gather necessary equipment to secure campy safety. This Sunday, December 20th, Thomas Road Baptist Church is collecting a special Christmas offering to raise donations for the children’s camp. If you would like to join in giving, learn more about the TRO or financially support the ministry, donate online or drop off your gift during the Sunday offertory service.

Construction is underway to build a youth camp after president and CEO of Foster Fuels, Inc., Watt R. Foster Jr., donated 500 acres to Thomas Road Baptist Church. The property was donated on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in honor of Foster’s dad, Watt R. “Bobby” Foster, Sr., who passed away in April.
Though construction is in it’s beginning phase, enthusiasm and support are rapidly spreading for the project that is set to open camp in June of 2015. Foster Fuels believes that when the community succeeds we all succeed. That’s why they are encouraging the community to join in giving to the cause – either financially or through service. Donations are encouraged and can be made through Thomas Road Baptist Church.
